Traditional Dance and Music Enjoy 1st ISSE UNY 2015

The 1st International Seminar on Science Education (ISSE) UNY 2015 which was held on Saturday, October 31 2015 was the first international seminar held by the PPs UNY science education group. In this activity, the participants not only received presentations from keynote speakers from 2 different continents, namely Rena Heap, Ph.D (New Zealand, Australia) and Bambang Sumintono, Ph.D (Malaysia, Southeast Asia), but also get entertainment in the form of traditional music and traditional dance typical of Yogyakarta.

Aiming to introduce Yogyakarta culture, 1st ISSE Uny 2015 presents entertainment in the form of the Sekar Pudyastuti Jugag dance accompanied by traditional karawitan music which is presented live in front of keynote speakers, invited guests and seminar participants. Since 07.15, the participants' ears were cooled by the chanting of traditional musical instruments and the sweet sound of sinden from the UNY kamasetra musical team. The musical team consisting of 14 people presented several songs to entertain the participants while waiting for the opening ceremony to begin.

Not only that, at precisely 09.20 the participants were not only entertained by the playing of traditional musical instruments, but were also entertained by the arrival of 2 dancers who were student representatives who accompanied the speaker as he entered the main seminar room. Wearing red kebayas, the dancers looked graceful and graceful in performing this dance which was a welcoming dance. The keynote speakers who came from outside Indonesia also felt entertained and happy with the entertainment, as did the participants, as stated by Reji Sulistya Nugraha, "This is the first time I have attended an international seminar, and the first time I have seen musical instruments as a filler. seminar event, and it was very good.

It's just that there are only two dancers, maybe if there were more it would be better," said the Physics Education student, FMIPA UNY. This international seminar activity is certainly not only to broaden the knowledge of academics, especially in the field of education. However, through this activity, it is hoped that it will be able to strengthen good relations between academics both in Indonesia and internationally.
